Haikou primary and secondary schools to open on Sept 5

Haikou's kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools are scheduled to start the autumn semester on Sept 5, while its secondary vocational schools will open on Sept 13.

All teachers, students, and school employees must have stayed in Haikou for seven days prior to returning to school. They must also have two negative nucleic acid test certificates taken within 72 hours of their return.

Teachers, students, and staff who are currently in a city or county in the midst of a local COVID-19 pandemic should refrain from returning to school. Teachers, students, and staff who are in cities and counties that have achieved social zero COVID-19 clearance for seven consecutive days can return to Haikou. After completing the seven-day home health monitoring, they can return to school with two negative certificates of nucleic acid tests taken within 72 hours of their return.

Teachers and staff who have served as volunteers engaged in pandemic prevention and control work should return to school after completing relevant control measures as required by the Haikou Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters.

Teachers and students who have been cured of confirmed or asymptomatic COVID-19 infections and discharged from the hospital or who have been released from centralized isolation medical observation should conduct home health monitoring for seven days before returning.

Teachers and students who are in close or sub-intensive contact should return to school with two negative nucleic acid test certificates taken within 72 hours of their return after completing corresponding control and health management requirements.

Teachers, students, and school employees with symptoms like a fever, cough, sore throat, rash, and diarrhea should not return to school for the time being. After they have been cured and have tested negative repeatedly for the COVID-19 infection, they can report to the school for approval before returning.

When entering the school campus, teachers and students who meet the conditions for returning to school should follow measures, such as scanning the itinerary code and the location code, receiving temperature measurements, as well as wearing a mask before entering the school.

If the school situation changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the Haikou Municipal Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters will make a comprehensive study and judgment based on the pandemic situation and preparations for the opening of the school, making any necessary news announcements in a timely manner.
