On June 28, the 2nd Hainan Brocade and Embroidery World Culture Week kicked off in Haikou. This event showcases traditional weaving, embroidery, printing, and dyeing techniques, aiming to create a platform with international influence for the exchange and display of Hainan's brocade and embroidery products all over the world.

The opening ceremony featured a fashion show, which displayed 120 Chinese pieces on stage. National intangible cultural heritage items like Yun brocade, Song brocade, and Li brocade were showcased respectively, while the traditional spinning, dyeing, weaving, and embroidery skills of the Li ethnic group were also displayed to create a unique cultural feast.

As an important activity of the 21st Hainan Island Carnival, the culture week has the theme of "Inheriting, innovating, and creating a brilliant world." The five-day event will feature a wide variety of activities, including the first intangible cultural heritage weaving, embroidery, printing, and dyeing skill exhibition. Brocade and embroidery works from various countries, as well as from the local Li ethnic group will be displayed during the event to showcase different traditional cultures, according to the Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television, and Sports.
