Hainan focuses on local tourism market for May Day holiday

Cities and counties in Hainan will focus on local and surrounding tourism markets for the upcoming May Day holiday, as part of their COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control measures, by increasing tourism products supply and launching preferential activities.

Haikou has launched a series of themed activities, covering areas and business districts of the west coast, the east coast, and Haikou Meilan Sun Moon Plaza, including interactive activities like water sports, beach volleyball, hip-hop competitions, as well as parent-child tours. There are also abundant activities in hotels, as well as catering and commercial consumption options.

Sanya has teamed with surrounding cities, counties, and travel companies to launch 30 self-driving tour routes covering rural tourism, red tourism, healthcare vacations, family tours, and wedding honeymoon tours.

In addition, Sanya launched a tourism product promotion for Hainan residents, with more than 100 star-rated hotels, high-end hotels, and budget hotels participating.

The 2022 Wenchang Coconut Culture and Tourism Festival will hold a series of activities like a coconut creative culture exhibition, a coconut science popularization culture class, a coconut market, and a locomotive parade of the 3rd Wenchang International Locomotive Tourism Festival in 2022. In addition, five themed free travel routes have been released, providing residents and tourists more holiday options.

During the May Day holiday from April 30 to May 4, major scenic spots will also hold preferential activities to attract tourists. Sanya Nanshan Cultural Tourism Area, Wuzhizhou Island, Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park, and other scenic spots have launched discounts on tickets for Hainan residents. In addition, Hainan residents can visit the Hainan Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone, Binglanggu Li & Miao Cultural Heritage Park, as well as Qixianling Hot Spring National Forest Park for free.

In addition, many scenic spots like Wuzhizhou Island, Daxiaodongtian Area, and Binglanggu have implemented a free admission policy for medical staff.
