3 places in Hainan listed as 'Hometowns of Chinese Folk Culture and Art'

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism released a list of the 2021-23 Hometowns of Chinese Folk Culture and Art on Nov 3. Three places in Hainan province were among those listed, namely Qiongzhong Li and Miao autonomous county for its Li folk songs, Wuzhishan Tongshi town for its Li traditional spinning, dyeing, weaving and embroidery skills, and Danzhou Guangcun town for its Danzhou tune. 

Hometowns of Chinese Folk Culture and Art refer to specific distinctive areas with popular folk culture and art that has significant influence nationwide.

The Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province has made efforts to simultaneously preserve and promote the development of traditional culture in recent years, and the province's folk culture and art have been protected and inherited in an orderly manner and showed vigorous development.
