According to a press conference held on May 11, the 2024 Guiyang Marathon will start at 7:30 am on June 16 at the north square of the Guiyang International Conference & Exhibition Center.

This marathon includes four events: a full marathon (42.195 kilometers), a half marathon (21.0975 km), a mini-marathon (about 4.5 km), and an online marathon.

So far, 93,902 people have applied, including 18,535 for the full marathon, 39,910 for the half marathon, and 35,457 for the mini-marathon.

The marathon route will span Guanshanhu district, Baiyun district, and the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. It will pass through the "green lungs of the city" such as Guanshanhu Park, Yueshanhu Wetland Park, Karst Park, and Quanhu Park.

Both the full and half marathons will finish at the north square of the Guiyang International Conference & Exhibition Center, while the mini-marathon will finish at the Zizhu Gate of Guanshanhu Park.

Considering the operation of previous events, this year's marathon will have both online and on-site events for 52,000 participants. The on-site event will feature 32,000 participants, an increase of 7,000 from 2023. A total of 6,000 contestants will participate in the full marathon, 12,000 in the half marathon, and 14,000 in the mini-marathon.

Additionally, to meet the needs of running enthusiasts, 20,000 spots have been reserved for the online event.

Guiyang will coordinate with the railway departments to open special high-speed trains and provide guidance services at stations such as Guiyangdong Railway Station and Guiyangbei Railway Station. Further details on the special trains will be released once confirmed.

Furthermore, this year's marathon will initiate a charity run. While advocating for a healthy and confident lifestyle, it aims to attract more people to participate in charitable activities. All funds raised through charity will be used to support Guiyang's rural vitalization and sports development.
