Farmers' harvest festival to be celebrated in Xiuwen's Damu village

The main event of the 2023 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival in Guizhou province will be held in Damu village, Liutun town, Xiuwen county in the provincial capital of Guiyang on Sept 23.

In addition to the opening ceremony, eight sub-events will be held in Damu village.

These will include a promotional event for rural gourmet food, a photography exhibition, a promotion and live streaming activity for the consumption of branded agricultural products, and an agricultural production competition.

Damu village covers an area of 17.5 square kilometers, with a forest coverage rate of 67 percent.

The village boasts pleasant natural landscapes and abundant tourism attractions. It has successfully preserved natural resources such as mountains, rivers, forests, fields, and grasslands.

The village is currently home to a 1,000-mu (66.67-hectare) high-yield grain base, a 1,000-mu yellow chive planting base, 1,000 mu of kiwi fruit and other orchard bases, and 230 mu of cultivated edible mushrooms, attracting a steady stream of tourists.
