Yangming Culture Martial Arts Competition to be held in August

The First Yangming Culture Martial Arts Competition will be held in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 16, according to the Guizhou Provincial Wushu Association.

The event based on the theme of "Cool Guiyang, Philosophy Xiuwen" is now open for registration and is inviting enthusiasts from all over the country to participate in this grand martial arts gathering and experience the wisdom and power of philosophy while showcasing their fighting skills.

The competition aims to establish a platform for the integration of sports, culture, and tourism, promote the essence of Yangming Philosophy and the spirit of Chinese martial arts, and inherit the best of traditional Chinese culture.

The competition will consist of 12 categories, including optional fist techniques, beginner-level fist techniques, Tai Chi, Wing Chun, traditional martial arts, and Guizhou local martial arts, among others.

Xiuwen county is the birthplace of Chinese philosopher Wang Yangming's enlightenment. Martial arts emphasizes the integration of internal and external techniques, which aligns well with the idea of "no external objects in the mind" in Yangming Philosophy.

To create a vibrant atmosphere and provide a fulfilling experience for participants, a series of activities will also be organized during the competition, such as forums, camps and a photography contest, to showcase the ecological and cultural beauty of Xiuwen, as well as its achievements in economic development.
