Basketball match opens in Xiuwen

The opening basketball game of the first Xiuwen nationwide fitness sports meeting was held in Xiuwen county of Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on May 10.

During the opening ceremony, energetic basketball exercises, a cheerleading performance, and a range of cultural performances were staged, fully demonstrating the high spirits of the people of Xiuwen.

When the opening game began, the two teams battled it out in a fierce competition, winning the applause of spectators.

More matches will be played until mid-July. A total of 58 teams from various townships, towns, sub-districts, county departments, and enterprises will participate in the competition, including 50 men's teams and eight women's teams. They will be divided into four groups for a total of nearly 200 games.
