The Department of Critical Care Medicine at Xiuwen County People's Hospital successfully performed the country's first plasma exchange.
A patient was recently admitted to the hospital's Department of Critical Care Medicine because they experienced more than six hours of "sudden disturbances in consciousness, ventricular fibrillation, and no blood pressure".
Provincial and municipal experts recommended that the patient receive repeated static injections of magnesium sulfate to stabilize myocardial cells. The patient then underwent both plasmapheresis and hemoperfusion frequency, along with other treatments in order to effectively prevent the progression of the disease.
The medical staff members performed plasma exchange therapy on the patient. After five plasma exchange sessions, the expected therapeutic effect was achieved. Various indicators were significantly improved, and the patient's condition was effectively controlled.
