Xiuwen County People's Congress convenes second session

The second session of the 17th Xiuwen County People's Congress convened on Feb 21 in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, with 186 deputies attending.

Xie Guobo, deputy Party secretary of acting head of Xiuwen, delivered the county's government work report, which stated the achievements made in 2022, new targets for local development in 2023, and government efficiency enhancement work.

In the report, Xie summarized the achievements made in Xiuwen's socio-economic development in terms of industrial transformation and upgrading, rural vitalization, business environment, ecological environment, and people's livelihoods.

The government work report also set goals for 2023, including a GDP increase of about 7 percent, an increase of more than 9 percent in the added value of industries above a designated size, and an increase of more than 7 percent in total retail sales of consumer goods.

The session also examined the implementation of Xiuwen's 2022 economic and social development plan and the 2023 economic and social development plan draft report, Xiuwen's 2022 fiscal budget implementation and the 2023 county-level fiscal budget draft report.
