A groundbreaking ceremony for the planned North (Xiuwen) New Building Materials Industrial Park Project – being developed by Guiyang Mining Energy Group – was held in Longgui village on Dec 28.

The village is located in Xiuwen county, administered by Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

With a green and low-carbon concept, the park will build a new building materials production system. This will integrate high-quality machine-made sand, low-carbon high-performance concrete and environmentally friendly dry-mixed mortar.

The project is scheduled to start operating on July 1 this year and the operational life is about nine years.

After starting up, the industrial park is projected to realize an annual output value of about 250 million yuan ($36.43 million), pay taxes of about 10 million yuan a year and create more than 80 jobs.

The industrial park will provide Xiuwen with a new path to mineral resources development. It will also help the county in terms of boosting its output value, taxation and employment.

In addition, it is expected to provide more and better products for infrastructure construction there.
