Xiuwen expands development of high-standard farmland

Since the start of the year, Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been committed to the development of high-standard farmland, helping its rural revitalization, agricultural efficiency and overall rural development and boosting the incomes of its farmers.

The development area of high-standard farmland in Xiuwen in 2022 was 30,000 mu (2,000 hectares), with a total investment of about 180 million yuan ($24.83 million), involving 33 villages in 11 townships, towns and sub-districts.

Field mechanized cultivation roads, ponds, ditches and land leveling will be developed.

After the completion of all the high-standard farmland, the field accessibility rate and irrigation rate in the county are expected to reach over 90 percent and the rate for machine harvesting is predicted to reach over 75 percent.
