Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has built a chrysanthemum tourism base and encouraged villagers to plant ginkgo trees spontaneously to attract tourists in autumn.
So far, more than 70 mu (4.67 hectares) of chrysanthemum-related areas have been developed, attracting more than 5,200 tourists and generating an income of more than 380,000 yuan ($52,405.87).
Residents of the county's Xingfu village have spontaneously planted more than 15,000 ginkgo trees over an area of more than 300 mu, attracting more than 18,000 tourists and achieving more than 120,000 yuan in tourism income.
