In face of the current round of the COVID-19 pandemic in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, volunteers from Xiuwen county in the city have wholeheartedly rallied in the battle against the virus.

To date, 6,564 volunteers in the county have joined the front line of the fight, including Party members and cadres, deputies of the Xiuwen County People's Congress and members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Xiuwen county committee. Also lending a gallant hand have been young people, teachers, retired soldiers and members of the public.

They have played an active role in helping with personnel flows, information statistics, sanitations and disinfections, materials distribution and the construction of COVID-free communities.

During the period, volunteers in Xiuwen have also engaged in heart-warming acts of kindness – helping the weak and the poor and providing psychological counseling.
