In recent years, Damu village in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has given full play to its cool climate and red cultural resources to develop its tourism industry, providing more channels for villagers to increase their incomes and helping rural revitalization.

Since the beginning of summer this year, there has been an endless stream of people visiting Damu village to enjoy the beauty of the countryside, accept the influence of red culture, taste the delicious food and have a great time.

In 1935, the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army entered the village on the Long March and carried out revolutionary publicity activities, which were actively supported by the local people. Many teams now come here to carry out Party building activities every year.

Damu village also boasts ancient ginkgo trees and Jinye Lake and is adjacent to the Taoyuan River Scenic Area. It is rich in forest and stream resources.

From time to time, the village arranges for villagers and tourists to participate in activities such as making glutinous rice cakes, long table banquets, bonfire evenings, and Bouyei song parties.

The villagers have been working to develop a summer economy. Under the guidance and support of the town and village governments, they began renovating their idle properties and opening B&Bs.

There are currently 15 B&Bs and 16 agritainment venues in the village, providing more than 1,100 beds, receiving about 180,000 tourists every year, and boasting a comprehensive tourism income of more than 7.6 million yuan ($1.13 million).
