Xiuwen promotes summer heat-avoiding economy

In recent years, Xiuwen county in Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has promoted the summer heat-avoiding economy, and as a result has moved into featured homestays, research and study tours and other tourism products.

The Yinqiao Inn – located in Damu village, Liutun town, in Xiuwen – is adjacent to the Taoyuan River Scenic Spot.

The inn was originally the residential houses of local people. The houses retain their original external features such as tile roofs.

In addition to basic accommodation, the inn is also equipped with chess rooms and badminton rooms, to meet the different needs of tourists.

From January to June this year, the county received 225,100 overnight visits, a year-on-year increase of 16 percent. The turnover of Xiuwen's accommodation industry above a designated size reached 22.91 million yuan ($3.4 million), a year-on-year increase of 35.1 percent.

In June, the per capita spending of tourists in the county was 1,070 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.34 percent.
