Migrant workers enjoy favorable public services in Xiuwen

In recent years, Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has improved the quality of life of migrant workers by providing social security services, schooling services for children, and housing services.

Migrant workers who are flexibly employed in Xiuwen can apply to participate in the basic pension insurance for enterprise employees. Those with a labor relation in the county can participate in the basic pension insurance, unemployment insurance, and work-related injury insurance for enterprise employees.

All workers and residents in Xiuwen can participate in the county's basic medical insurance for urban and rural residents.

So far, 11,319 migrant workers in the county have participated in the basic endowment insurance for enterprise employees, 2,818 people in unemployment insurance, and 38.28 million people in work-related injury insurance.

In 2021, the county formulated the implementation rules for the enrollment of children who have moved with migrant workers. It has been proposed that proper arrangements should be made for the children of migrant workers with residence permits from outside the county to enroll in public compulsory education schools that are relatively close to the place of residence and have vacant study positions.

Also, through the formulation of the Xuwen county public rental housing work implementation plan, the coverage of housing security has been expanded, restrictions on household registration for rental housing subsidies have been relaxed, and rural migrants and migrant workers within the county have become eligible for housing security.
