More than 2,500 mu (166.67 hectares) of plums in Wugongqiao village, Saping town, Xiuwen county have recently entered picking season.

Xiuwen county is located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The plums grown in Wugongqiao village have thin skin, are crispy and have a unique fragrance.

Many growers in the village shuttled through the planting gardens, carrying baskets to pick the ripe plums, and sent them to the market for sale or sold them directly to visitors.

Wu Fuxiang was one of the first local growers. The plums bring in a lot of income for his family every year. This year, due to a hailstorm, the appearance of the plums was affected, but the taste was still sweet and delicious.

"This year, our plums are selling for about 2 or 2.5 yuan per kilogram. Usually we have quite a lot of tourists here, especially on weekends," Wu said.

In recent years, the village has given full play to its cultural resources, created the Wugongqiao plum brand, and developed a unique tourism agricultural development route for appreciating flowers in March and tasting fruits in July.

"The village has many water resources and Wugong Bridge with a history of more than 600 years. When tourists come, they can not only pick plums, but also play in the water and eat at rural houses nearby," said Xiong Chaohui, deputy secretary of the Party branch of the village.
