Xiuwen county – administered by Guiyang city, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – got a big boost from this year's Duanwu Festival holiday on June 3-5, receiving 179,500 visits and recording tourism revenue of 85 million yuan ($12.75 million).
The county's China Yangming Cultural Park launched a series of cultural activities, including dance and tai chi performances, calligraphy demonstrations and sachet making.
Gan Siyu, a Guiyang tourist, said the activities in the park enabled adults and kids to enjoy traditional Chinese culture.
Other scenic spots – including the Taoyuan River Scenic Area, Guizhou Forest Wildlife Park and an eco-agricultural sightseeing park called the Scottish Pasture – also launched fun activities and attracted many tourists.
What's more, over the three-day break, local homestays continued to be popular. The room occupancy rate of the Qiangui Liuguang Hot Spring Hotel, for example, reached 100 percent.
