Shaxi village in Xiuwen county develops eco-tourism

After more than half a year of construction, the Xiaoshaxi Leisure Park in Shaxi village, in the Longchang sub-district of Xiuwen county – administered by Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – recently opened to the public and locals and tourists can now go there to enjoy its charms at no charge.

Shaxi village is located to the west of the county and it only takes 5 minutes to drive from downtown Xiuwen.

The village has a great location and lush natural vegetation, with a forest coverage rate of 77 percent. The Shaxi River flowing down from the county seat runs through the village.

Over the past two decades, due to the continuous development of the city, the Shaxi River became somewhat polluted, resulting in the Shaxi River having fetid riverbanks.

Now, through the village's efforts, on both sides of the river there are new leisure and entertainment facilities. These include leisure trails, yurts, dining areas, lounge pavilions, open-air swimming pools, barbecue areas and parking lots.

Moving forwards, the village plans to develop a Shaxi eco-tourism resort and it will develop into a wellness town that is both livable and entertaining.
