Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has become a national green kiwifruit producing area, according to a statement released by the China Green Food Development Center on Dec 15.

In China, 31 sites have been designated as national green kiwifruit producing hubs and Xiuwen is the first one in the region administered by Guizhou.

On Dec 25, 2018, Xiuwen was granted approval by China Green Food Development Center to build a national green production base.

In the three years since its establishment, it has received the guidance of the national, provincial and municipal green food authorities.

Xiuwen has reportedly strictly implemented green food standards there, revised and improved its organizational management, environmental protection, production management, agricultural resources management, technical services and overall operations.

As a result, the brand impact of Xiuwen kiwifruit has been further advanced, laying the foundations for the development of a processing industry for Xiuwen kiwifruit.

Going forwards, plans are for Xiuwen to continue to refine and improve planting standards, ensure quality control of agricultural inputs and promote the brand image of Xiuwen kiwifruit, to form a complete production and processing cycle for the Xiuwen kiwifruit sector.
