4.6-magnitude quake hits Xiuwen

A magnitude-4.6 earthquake hit near Longchang sub-district in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, at 5:16 pm on Nov 24, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter was monitored at 26.87 degrees north latitude and 106.68 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers.

After the earthquake, Xiuwen immediately activated emergency plans and held an earthquake disaster relief dispatch meeting on the evening of Nov 24 to arrange the county's earthquake disaster relief work.

All 12 towns, townships and sub-districts throughout the county quickly carried out earthquake disaster inspections.

After on-site inspections, no reports of casualties were received. Residents' water, electricity, and gas communications were not affected, and the surrounding people were emotionally stable, with people's lives and productivity unaffected.
