Xiuwen among top counties with tourism development potential

Xiuwen county – administered by Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – made the 2021 list of China's top 100 counties and county-level cities with tourism development potential, according to the 2021 China County Tourism Competitiveness Report released on Nov 2.

The evaluation mainly examined the four assessment categories of potential in resources development, market expansion, basic support potential and government promotions.

Xiuwen is a place with rich integrated cultural and tourism resources, including its Yangming culture and modern villages with great environments and beautiful scenery.

Currently, the county is home to seven key tourist attractions, including four national 4A-level tourist attractions, eight urban and rural parks, one national agricultural tourism demonstration site, four provincial-level key rural tourism villages and more than 20 rural tourist spots.

From January to September this year, Xiuwen generated tourism income of 6.25 billion yuan ($977.47 million) and received 6.8 million visits.

Tourism is said to have become the leading industry of the county's tertiary industry and become an important driver for its economic and social development.
