National green food production base established in Xiuwen

The national green food raw material (kiwi fruit) standardized production base in Xiuwen county was approved by the China Green Food Development Center on Oct 28.

Xiuwen county is located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The approval of the base will further promote the standardized production and market-oriented development of the Xiuwen kiwi fruit industry and enhance standardized production technology for kiwi fruit growers.

It will also improve the quality of agricultural products and the visibility of green food and promote the sustainable development of the Xiuwen kiwi fruit industry.

In recent years, Xiuwen has focused on the establishment of a national green food ingredient (kiwi fruit) standardized production base, and insisted on combining this with the construction of a national modern agricultural industrial park, comprehensive improvement of the rural environment, and adjustment of the agricultural industrial structure.

The base revolves around the Gubao Fruit and Animal Modern and High-Efficiency Agriculture Provincial Demonstration Park, promoting the development of the county's kiwi fruit planting area.

The base involves 11 towns and townships (sub-districts), 28 villages, and 28 planting enterprises and cooperatives in the county and has a kiwi fruit planting area of 15,453 mu (1,030.2 hectares).

In addition, with green food standards as guidelines, the base strictly controls agricultural inputs and implements standardized production throughout the entire process. The quality of its kiwi fruit products meets national green food standards.
