Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been improving its sports facilities and organizing sports activities in recent years.
The county's bureau of culture, sport, broadcasting and tourism was honored as a "2017-2020 national mass sports advanced unit".
A number of public sports projects have been implemented in the county, including a standard stadium with a construction area of more than 13,000 square meters, 178 sports projects in rural areas, and more than 30 exercise plazas. About 40 kilometers of jogging trails and 85 sets of fitness paths were paved at the Yangming Culture Park and Fengtai Lake Park.
Public sports venues are available for free, and the county's stadium is open for at least 15 hours per day. The county's standard sports center is open for free all day and offers venues for tennis, basketball, badminton, Chinese Chess, Go, and football.
Various sporting activities, such as marathons, drifting matches, and jogging, have also been organized in an effort to stimulate people's enthusiasm for sports and fitness.
