Xiuwen celebrates Dragon Boat Festival with themed event

The Guiyang Dragon Boat Festival-themed civilization practice event was held on June 11 at China Yangming Cultural Park in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

This year's Dragon Boat Festival fell on June 14.

The event aimed to promote Dragon Boat Festival's customs through activities such as red-song singing, classical poetry reading and civilized volunteer services, guiding the public to learn more about the festival's cultural elements and promoting traditional Chinese culture.

Activities such as making zongzi, also known as sticky rice dumplings, and drinking realgar wine created a strong festive atmosphere.

At the art performance, performers brought an audiovisual feast to the audience through various performance methods, including singing and dancing, poetry recitation and clapper talk.

In addition, the award-winning question and answer activity provided an interactive experience for the audience to learn about the traditional culture of Dragon Boat Festival.

The organizors promoted awareness of fitness, sports and health through the use of display panels – also offering consultations at on-site volunteer service desks.
