The Guizhou Xiuwen Kiwi fruit Research Institute and China-New Zealand Kiwi fruit Belt and Road Joint Laboratory Guizhou Center were unveiled in the Kiwifruit Science Park in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on June 4.

The move is meant to promote the high-quality development of the province's kiwi fruit industry and improve the related technological research and development and supporting services.
Xiuwen will do its best to provide guarantees and excellent services, create good conditions for experts and scholars, and build the institute into a hub for the development of the kiwi fruit industry.
The Guizhou Kiwifruit Industry Development Conference was also held that same day. The participants conducted in-depth research on how to promote the high-quality development of kiwi fruit.
The Sichuan Provincial Academy of Natural Resources and Guizhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences signed a cooperation agreement on the construction of the research institute and Guizhou center of the joint laboratory.
Xiuwen kiwi fruit has a long history. The main variety is "Guichang," which is selected and bred from wild kiwi fruit in local mountains, resulting in unique regional characteristics.
