In recent years, Xiuwen county in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has always given priority to education improvement, and has upgraded school facilities by increasing investment in education and speeding up educational infrastructure construction.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), the county invested 2.71 billion yuan ($421.89 million) in education funds, implemented 62 new reconstruction and expansion projects, and added 181,000 square meters of building area and 13,410 study positions.

With the continuous development of urbanization, the education department of Xiuwen county has further optimized the allocation of educational resources.
In 2020, based on the overall relocation of Xiuwen High School, Xiuwen No 4 Primary School was built and put into use.
This year, the newly built Xiuwen No 6 Kindergarten and Xiuwen No 5 Primary School will soon be completed and put into use.
After completion, the two projects will provide a solid guarantee for the high-quality and balanced development of schools in the county's compulsory education stage, and help its urbanization development.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Xiuwen will make efforts to optimize the education sector's structure and accelerate its modernization. It will build more than 18 new public schools, three private schools and more than 10 kindergartens.
