Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, experienced a rebound in tourism during this year's May Day holiday on May 1-5, according to the county's bureau of culture and tourism.
Over the five-day break, the county was visited 647,130 times, and its tourism income exceeded 288 million yuan ($44.82 million), a year-on-year increase of 37.78 percent and 58.53 percent, respectively.

Six major scenic spots in the county resumed normal operations during the holiday, including Guizhou Wildlife Park, China Yangming Cultural Park, Taoyuan River Scenic Area and Scottish Pasture.
All scenic spots implemented strict COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control measures.
Xiuwen also strengthened work deployment and holiday supervision, continued to improve service quality, and received no tourism-related complaints during the holiday.
