Xiuwen ensures development of pharma sector

Xiuwen economic development zone located in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has provided consistent support for the development of its pharmaceutical industry.

An industrial financial service system in the zone has been established, to sort out the financing needs of developing pharma companies.

The zone is also understood to have organized a government-bank-enterprise matchmaking meeting, as well as invited interested departments and financial institutions to provide on-site services and boosted its funding support for pharma companies.

It has helped pharmaceutical companies in the zone with 12 loans to the value of 112 million yuan ($17.29 million).

In addition, it has focused on developing the pharma industry as a pillar sector and guided companies to ramp up their high-tech and technological transformation, to enhance their market competitiveness.

At present, among the 441 products registered by pharmaceutical companies in the zone, 77 are patented products, 28 are exclusive varieties and nine are protected traditional Chinese medicines.
