Raft of projects in Xiuwen county break ground

Xiuwen county in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held a groundbreaking ceremony for 13 projects on Nov 13, with a total investment of 1.67 billion yuan ($254.64 million).

These included six social undertaking projects with a total investment of 163 million yuan, three manufacturing projects with a total investment of 223 million yuan and four urban construction projects with a total investment of 1.28 billion yuan.

Guiyang Yangming Cultural Tourism City (Phase I), where the groundbreaking ceremony took place, covers an area of 425 mu (28.33 hectares), with a total investment of 1.1 billion yuan.

It will build six themed ecological parks and have a variety of other features including a combined courtyard, a stacked courtyard and small high-rise buildings.

After completion, it will improve the urban commercialization level of surrounding areas and add family-oriented cultural, tourism and recreational spaces with urban boutique residences and leisure facilities for Xiuwen county.

Since the start of the year, Xiuwen county has sped up project construction and helped businesses to start and ramp up to full production.

From January to October, 56 provincial key projects in Xiuwen county completed an investment of 7.19 billion yuan, completing 219.74 percent of their annual target of 3.27 billion yuan, ranking the county first in the city in terms of its growth rate.
