Xiuwen county celebrates Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival

Activities celebrating the third Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival, as well as livestreaming to drive sales of Guiyang products, were held on Sept 25 at the kiwifruit plantation in Pingtan village in Gubao town, Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

In recent years, Xiuwen county has aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of the agricultural industry, reducing the cultivation of inefficient traditional crops and instead increasing the cultivation of special agricultural products.

The success of the Xiuwen kiwifruit cultivation has been seen as a "golden sign" for the development of the region's agricultural industry.

In this year's evaluation conducted by the China Brand Value Evaluation Center, the brand strength of Xiuwen kiwifruit was rated with an impressive 843 points, with a brand value of 2.21 billion yuan ($323.37 million), and its popularity and market competitiveness continued to rise on previous years.

This year, there has also been a bumper harvest of Xiuwen kiwifruit and the output of fresh fruits is expected to reach 60,000 metric tons.

After the activities on the day, the county will also hold a series of large-scale livestreaming telecasts, to help drive the sales of kiwifruit.
