As of the end of 2024, 550 livable rural homes in Wudang district had been fully renovated, creating a beautiful and comfortable living environment for villagers.

Wudang district has combined rural living environment improvements with the summer vacation and tourism industry, accelerating the development of beautiful villages and promoting the tourism sector to boost farmers' incomes and improve their livelihoods.

The district has implemented projects such as creating "Three Small Gardens" (vegetable gardens, orchards, and flower gardens) both in front of and behind houses, cleaning and upgrading disorganized sheds and pens and improving the overall livability and comfort of rural homes.

Selective renovations were made to houses with damaged walls, which affected the village's overall appearance. Cultural murals depicting themes like rural vitalization and rural governance have also been painted to showcase the villages' unique characteristics and increase their appeal.

Additionally, Wudang district has encouraged and supported villagers in running rural guesthouses to generate income while creating nearby employment opportunities. Public facilities, such as footpaths, greenery, parking spaces, small parks, and squares, have also been upgraded to meet local needs and improve the community's infrastructure.

Through its renovation efforts, Wudang has successfully developed its tourism industry and benefited local villagers. Chen Gang upgraded his courtyard and welcomed 1,800 visitors in 2024, earning an additional income of 120,000 yuan ($16,368). Similarly, Li Liangyan improved her courtyard and hosted 1,400 tourists, increasing her income by 80,000 yuan.
