Since the beginning of this year, Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has actively promoted the scaling-up and industrialization of its mushroom industry.

Wudang is currently in the peak mushroom harvesting and cultivation season. Local cultivation bases are enjoying a bountiful harvest while a new round of planting is underway, creating a seamless cycle.

Workers are busily harvesting mushrooms in the modern greenhouses at the edible mushroom cultivation base of Guizhou Shengxiang Agricultural Development Co in the district's Xinchang town.

Zhang Yizhou, the company's representative, said, "This is the prime season for mushrooms. We harvest 1.5 to 2 metric tons daily. Most of our mushrooms are sold fresh, primarily to markets around Guiyang."

The base covers over 20 mu (1.33 hectares) and has more than 10 modern greenhouses. With the support of the Wudang agricultural and rural affairs bureau and other relevant departments, the base has continuously upgraded its facilities and improved cultivation techniques. It now produces 500,000 mushroom sticks annually, with a total yield exceeding 500,000 kilograms of fresh mushrooms.

This year, Wudang has increased its investment in the mushroom industry, introducing a series of supportive policies, including financial subsidies, tax incentives, and technical assistance. These measures have reduced the operational costs for mushroom producers and enhanced their market competitiveness, driving the industry's development.
