In recent years, the Guanxilu sub-district in Wudang district, Guiyang, has been promoting development in elderly care services and actively improving facilities, healthcare support, recreational activities, and volunteer services in order to enhance the quality of life for its senior residents.

In Jinjiangyuan Community, where 33 percent of the residents are elderly, efforts are underway to improve accessibility, recreational spaces, and facilities within the neighborhood to better meet seniors' needs.

With healthcare as a core focus, Jinjiangyuan is using its grid management system to establish health records for 5,229 residents aged 65 and over. Medical staff regularly conduct free consultations and health seminars on topics like disease prevention and rehabilitation, while also providing regular blood pressure and blood sugar checks. The community's day-care center for the elderly has expanded its services to include physical therapy, recreational activities, and nursing support, creating a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable living environment for the elderly.

Recognizing that cultural engagement is a vital aspect of seniors' mental well-being, the Guanxilu sub-district has made arts and sports activities a key component of its services. Various communities organize activities such as tai chi, chess, calligraphy, painting, singing, dancing, sports, and Chinese New Year's couplet writing, helping seniors stay active, engaged, and enjoy a better quality of life.

Additionally, the sub-district integrates topics like waste sorting, fire safety, and anti-fraud awareness into traditional festival celebrations, including Chinese New Year, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Double Ninth Festival. This approach allows seniors to enjoy these activities while subtly reinforcing safety and social awareness in a warm, friendly atmosphere, encouraging greater participation.
