In recent years, Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been working to install fitness facilitates such as smart fitness paths and intelligent fitness stations in an effort to meet residents' fitness needs.
As one of several fitness-related initiatives mean to benefit the public, the intelligent fitness stations stand out from traditional fitness equipment with a large decorative "umbrella" on top of each device, equipped with solar panels. These "umbrellas" not only provide energy to the fitness equipment, making them energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, but also offer shade and protection from the rain for exercisers. Since being put into use last year, they have been well-received by the community.
"In the past, I would just take a walk along the road in the morning. Now, with these fitness facilities, I can come here to exercise, and it's really convenient," said Yang Guoxiang, a resident of Dongfeng village in Wudang. Yang mentioned that some of the new fitness installations even have electronic screens that display real-time data such as the number of exercises and calories burned, helping users achieve optimal fitness results.
In the meantime, at an intelligent fitness station in the Poly 2010 Residential Community, a range of new intelligent fitness equipment, including smart dual-position walkers, smart abdominal trainers and smart rowing machines, are freely available for public use, attracting many residents.
There are five such fitness stations in the residential community, making it easier for nearby residents to work out and catering to the exercise needs of a range of people.
This year, Wudang plans to implement 20 public sports projects, providing residents with more personalized, scientific, and intelligent exercise experiences, thereby enhancing their sense of well-being.
