On Feb 25 at the 2024 Para Badminton World Championships in Thailand, Cheng Hefang from Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, clinched the victory in the SL4 women's singles championship.

The competition also featured the Paris Paralympic Points Race.

According to Che Jun, a coach from Guizhou province and the Guiyang para-badminton teams, in order to secure one of the only six slots available for the women's badminton event at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, Cheng participated in point-earning tournaments held in Thailand, Bahrain, and Japan last year.

Following the conclusion of this tournament, she will fly to Beijing for a six-month closed-door training session in preparation for the badminton competition at the Paris Paralympic Games in September this year.

Cheng Hefang previously won one gold and one silver medal for badminton at the Tokyo Paralympic Games in September 2021, a significant milestone in her sporting career. In October 2023, she won the women's singles SL4 level championship at the 4th Asian Para Games in Hangzhou.
