Wudang to develop environmentally-friendly industrial system

Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, will build a green production system and develop and expand ecological, recycling-efficient, low-carbon, clean, and environmentally-friendly industries. 

To this end, Wudang will implement the following five major projects. 

Green industrial quality improvement

Wudang will comprehensively promote green manufacturing, accelerate the integration and creation of embedded software products with electronic information manufacturing and advanced equipment manufacturing, and comprehensively develop intelligent terminals, servers, and electronic components. 

The district will focus on promoting the production of traditional Chinese medicine and chemical drugs as well as medical device manufacturing so as to accelerate the development of the health and pharmaceutical industries. 

By the end of 2023, the output value of strategic emerging industries is expected to account for 80 percent of the total industrial output value, and the comprehensive utilization rate of bulk industrial solid waste is expected to reach 70 percent. 

Agriculture efficiency improvement in mountainous areas

Wudang will promote the integrated development of modern agriculture and specialty food processing, improve the quality and development of the fruit and vegetable, tea and edible fungi industries in mountainous areas, optimize the modern seed industry, develop regional public agricultural product brands, increase the added value of green food, and focus on promoting the transformation and upgrading of condiments, leisure food, and beverage and drinking water industries. 

The district will boost the forest-derived economy and develop modern ecological recycling agriculture. 

By the end of 2023, the output value of the specialty food industry is expected to reach more than 800 million yuan ($116.43 million), while the eco-friendly prevention and control coverage rate of crop diseases and pests is expected to reach 54 percent. 

Modern service industrial innovation

Wudang will boost health care, upgrade and transform health care infrastructure, and build a number of forest health care centers and ethnic traditional Chinese medicine health care bases. 

It will carry out pilot projects for the integrated development of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries, incubate a group of green manufacturing service providers, and offer services such as eco-friendly product design and manufacturing, eco-friendly upgrading of factories, consultation and identification. 

Digital economy development

Wudang will focus on cloud services and data element circulation to promote the development and growth of the digital industry, build more digital workshops, intelligent factories and industrial parks, and establish a series of demonstration sites for modern intelligent and digital agriculture by taking advantage of the Guiyang Agricultural Big Data Comprehensive Service Platform. 

By the end of 2023, the added value of the district's digital economy is expected to account for 47 percent of the regional GDP. 

Energy structure optimization

Wudang will accelerate the construction of new energy utilization bases, strengthen the development and utilization of wind, solar and geothermal energy, comprehensively improve energy utilization efficiency, and implement energy conservation and emission reduction.
