The Panlong Mountain Forest Park in Wudang district covers more than 66.667 million square meters hectares, has abundant water resources and beautiful scenery. The park has pine forests, rare trees and broad-leaved forests. Its manmade landscapes include the ancestral temple, the Buyi ethnic group cottage, and ancient bridges and post roads.
The Panlongshan Forest Park is adjacent to Shuitian town, which administers many villages featuring beautiful natural landscapes, quiet environments, and unique folk culture. The villages have the conditions to develop rural, farm and leisure tourism. Traffic to the park is convenient with a transport network consisting of railways, highways and aviation extending in all directions.
The forest area of Erpo Mountain in the park covers 60 million square meters, and the forest coverage rate is 95 percent, making it an excellent destination for adventure, hunting, outdoor sports, and forest sports competition.
Since 2014, the China Merchants Harbours Group has planned a tourism development project at Luozhuang, Shuitian town, Wudang district, with a planned area of 330,000 square meters. The plan is for the project to become a high-quality, diversified tourist resort integrating tourism, vacation, recreation, healthcare, aged residence, entertainment and sports.
