Wudang district in Guiyang city, Guizhou province, will increase efforts in major health industry development this year by keeping its growth rate above 22% and implementing 37 key projects with a total investment of 24.58 billion yuan. The district plans to invest 3.937 billion yuan this year.
The district will implement road network reconstruction projects and improve the industrial park infrastructure in 2019.
It will start planning the Zhangtianshui health industry park, advance the construction of Guiyang (Wudang) medical health city, and accelerate the construction of the Zhihui Yunjin incubation base that will function as an incubator center and innovation platform for the health industry.
The district also encourages local pharmaceutical companies to seek development through mergers and reorganizations. It promotes collaboration between local pharmaceutical companies and well-known large enterprises at home and abroad. By bringing in high-end resources, the district hopes to strengthen its production of chemical and biological drugs, generic drugs and healthcare products.
In addition, it will develop medium and high-end medical equipment, wearable equipment and high-value medical materials, and complete construction of a third-party medical testing center this year.
Wudang district is also developing modern urban mountain agriculture based on sightseeing experiences, fine breeding and deep processing of agricultural products, and providing medium and high-end consumer products and services. This year, the district will strive to develop hot spring healthcare enterprises and healthy leisure tourism projects to promote the integration of healthcare and leisure tourism.
The district aims to attract investments from European companies in pharmaceutical research and development, food processing, medical equipment and related industrial chain companies. It will also introduce enterprises in beauty products, smart terminals, wearable devices, health functional foods, hot spring healthcare and related industrial chain enterprises from Japan and South Korea. The district will work to introduce more than 15 billion yuan ($2.18 billion) of project investment in the health industry this year.
