Pianpo Buyi ethnic group holds folk festival

The Pianpo Buyi ethnic group held its traditional "Sixth Day of the Sixth Lunar Month" folk festival from July 6 to 8 in Wudang district of Guiyang, Guizhou province, attracting a lot of tourists from in and out of the province.

During the event, wonderful cultural and folk custom performances were given to show the simple and unsophisticated life of Buyi people.

The three day festival allowed visitors to have an immersive and local experience of the Buyi ethnic group by offering diverse folk activities, including a campfire party, sacrifice and blessing ceremonies, and making traditional Chinese glutinous rice-dumplings.

Inheriting the ethnic culture, people of the Buyi ethnic group show their new style and features in the new era through these activities.

The festival helps the Buyi ethnic group to expand the development of rural tourism and ethnic culture and greatly promotes the integration of farming, culture and tourism.
