In the realm of technological advancement, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province, where the fusion of quality electricity and computational prowess is propelling the big data industry towards new horizons at an accelerated pace, have become beacons of progress.
In the first half of this year, Gui'an data centers consumed 776 million kWh of electricity, a remarkable 49.1 percent year-on-year increase.
Leveraging its advantages in climate, topography and stable energy supply, Gui'an has since 2013 surged ahead in the race for dominance in the big data industry, convincing major enterprises to establish their computational operations within its borders.
To date, the area has successfully attracted 20 data (intelligent computation) centers, ranking highly nationwide in comprehensive computational power and boasting among the highest concentrations of large and super-large data centers globally.
"The rise of the big data industry necessitates secure, stable, and uninterrupted power support," said Wu Bo, general manager of the distribution network management department at the Gui'an Power Distribution Company.
Gui'an is currently providing top-tier electricity services to ensure the high-quality development of its burgeoning big data industry.
Gui'an has pioneered the full coverage of distribution network healing in the province, steadily increasing the coverage rates of automatic distribution, network healing, and rapid rectification of critical deficiencies.
Meanwhile, Gui'an is swiftly adapting to the escalating power supply demands brought about by the rapid growth of its industries.
In recent years, major data centers such as Huawei, Apple and Tencent have established a presence in Gui'an, resulting in a sharp surge in electricity demands.
Furthermore, the Gui'an Power Distribution Company has tailored power supply solutions for various data center projects, offering bespoke "nanny-style" power services to facilitate early power usage, efficient power utilization, and prompt commencement of operations for these enterprises.
Additionally, the company has developed 13 personalized product services to reduce electricity costs, ensuring a conducive environment for sustainable growth and innovation.
