Yunyan district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, signed a cooperation agreement with Guizhou's provincial supply and marketing management group on Dec 31, 2020, to build a headquarters base for fruit industry logistics.
Representatives from both parties attended the signing ceremony, along with officials from the province's department of agriculture and rural affairs and representatives from related companies.
Liao Kaiju, from the province's rural-industrial-revolution fruit-industry leading group, said that the province has been accelerating the development of the fruit industry in recent years. She added that the fruit industry is among Guizhou's 12 characteristic industries.
Guizhou's fruit industry group was jointly established by several companies and has formed a full fruit industry chain centered on technology R&D and application, brand design, cold chain construction, fruit sorting, logistics distribution, online and offline sales and personnel training.
She said the group would help promote rural revitalization in the province and hopes that Guizhou's fruit sales will expand in the future.
Wang Qian, head of the district government, said that Yunyan has large agricultural product wholesale markets, large comprehensive supermarkets and other farmer's markets, which provide a vast consumer base and circulation platform for the province's agricultural products.
He added that the district would promote the headquarters base's establishment and contribute to the province's comprehensive poverty alleviation, rural revitalization and agricultural modernization plans.
