Tech titan to build AI production base in Guiyang

Guanshanhu district in Guiyang city, Southwest China's Guizhou province, signed a contract with iFLYTEK Co Ltd on Nov 2 to cooperate in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and smart education.

According to the contract, the two sides will build a production base for AI products and cultivate demonstration projects for the AI industry based on advanced internet, big data and AI technologies. The cooperation is expected to promote the district's economy and boost its headquarters economy.

"The cooperation is a new start for our development in Guanshanhu district," said Lou Chao, vice-president of iFLYTEK.

Relevant departs in the district support the project's implementation and operation by providing comprehensive services, realizing mutual benefits for the local community and enterprises. The goal is to have the project up and running as soon as possible.

Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Hefei city, Anhui province, iFLYTEK is a tech company engaging in intelligent speech and artificial intelligence. In 2008, iFLYTEK went public on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

Its core technologies cover the fields of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), automatic speech certification and face-to-face translation. The company has won the State Science and Technology Award twice and the Information Industry Technological Invention Award.
