The five-day 2019 Guiyang International Special Agriculture Products Fair closed on Sept 29 in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province. It attracted 902 exhibitors and 398,000 people to participate in it, generating a total of 3.259 billion yuan ($456.25 million).
The fair's products covered more than 30 categories and more than 10,000 varieties of agricultral products, including 25 categories and 8,000 varieties in China, as well as five categories and 2,000 varieties in the world.
With all exhibitors making 5,038 replenishments, the sales volume exceeded 239 million yuan. A total of 317 buyers attended the fair and signed 49 contracts worth 3.259 billion yuan. In addition, investment promotion meetings during the fair led to 11 cooperation projects with a contract value of 763 million yuan.
The fair highlighted Guizhou's poverty alleviation efforts and the achievements of rural industrial reform. It set up booths for each city and prefecture government, as well as each county and district government, accounting for more than 75 percent of the total booth area, the highest proportion over the fair's history.
The agriculture fair also released the catalog of characteristic high-quality agricultural products in Guizhou, which examined 1,033 business entities, covering 19 categories, including basic business information, region and production scale, product types, branding, as well as product certification.
