The 9th International Alcoholic Beverage Expo kicked off in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Sept 9, along with the 2019 Guizhou Inland Opening-up Pilot Zone Investment and Trade Fair.
As an international event with enormous influence, the expo included a group signing ceremony on the first day for 39 projects worth 28.3 billion yuan ($3.98 billion), of which 31 projects were signed at the trade fair.
Among the signed agreements, 12 were related to special industries in Guizhou, such as vegetables, tea, edible fungus, medicinal herbs. Twelve were linked with the industrial development of modern chemicals, advanced equipment manufacturing, and big data electronic information.
An additional five projects were signed to stimulate the modern service industry in Guizhou, including mountain tourism and health maintenance, while two other projects were for other industries.
Launched in 2011, the wine expo is the only national alcoholic expo approved by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, while the trade fair is a special opening-up platform aimed at attracting more investments and trade businesses.
Both the events are expected to expand cooperation and exchange in investments and trade, injecting more and new impetuses in Guizhou's economic development.
