The Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, organized a voluntary tree-planting activity on Jan 28, the first working day after the Spring Festival holiday.

On the day, more than 200 seedlings were planted at the tree-planting site in Xiaobi village, Xiaobi township in the Shuanglong zone.

In recent years, the Shuanglong zone has given priority to green development and has achieved fruitful results.

The Shuanglong zone has artificially afforested and treated 15,000 mu (1,000 hectares) of land and built 20 parks and two buried sewage treatment plants.

Also, 19.59 kilometers of river landscapes have been improved and 63 km of sewage collection pipes have been built, meaning all areas in the zone now receive sewage collection and treatment services.

A relatively complete and healthy ecosystem has been formed in the Shuanglong zone with forests, green land, rivers, mountain ponds, reservoirs, wetlands and other environmental elements.
