As an aviation E190 passenger plane was slowly towed into the warehouse, the aircraft hangar of Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport – located in the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – officially opened on Aug 10.
This also marked the first aircraft hangar in Southwest China and the first batch of aircraft hangars in China to be officially put into use.

Construction on the aircraft hangar started in December 2019, the roof steel structure was capped on Dec 30, 2020, and the fire inspection was completed on July 7, 2022.
The hangar is located between the airport's No 7 and No 8 aprons, with a total construction area of 7,380 square meters.
It is equipped with professional aircraft maintenance equipment such as 5T aerial cranes, underground wells, high-altitude trucks, hydraulic trucks, aircraft jacks, and aircraft maintenance ladders, which can provide aircraft parking, maintenance, modification, regular inspection and other service functions.
In the future, Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport will take full advantage of the new aircraft hangar, further strengthen the development of Guizhou civil aviation in-depth maintenance, improve the comprehensive maintenance and support service capabilities of the airport, and provide customers with efficient, professional and accurate service guarantee.
