The investment promotion bureau of the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone recently organized a training activity for the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) free trade agreement for foreign trade enterprises.
The Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone is located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The RCEP aims to establish a free trade agreement for a unified market by reducing tariffs and non-tariff barriers. It was jointly signed by 10 ASEAN countries and 15 other countries including China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. It came into effect on Jan 1 this year.
During the training activity, foreign trade enterprises in the Shuanglong zone learned about the application of RCEP rules of origin, visa and tariff planning, and the role of the RCEP mechanism for companies in the supply chain.
"The training is mainly to enable investment promotion liaisons of various working departments to be more proficient in RCEP mechanisms to help foreign trade enterprises make take advantage of its benefits so as to reduce export costs and expand trade scale," said Shi Dongmei, director of the Shuanglong zone's investment promotion bureau.
