Qingzhen sees remarkable achievements in public welfare in 2021-25

Qingzhen city in Guiyang achieved remarkable progress in urban management, education, transportation, and healthcare during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.

Qingzhen has made significant breakthroughs in urban governance. A total of 195 backstreets and alleys have been renovated, with an additional 60 hectares of green space created. Long-standing issues such as street vending and illegal parking have been tackled, accompanied by enhanced measures to manage dust, oil smoke, and noise pollution.

Qingzhen has invested a total of 1.95 billion yuan ($276.96 million) in the education sector, implementing 108 education projects and helping over 460,000 rural students through its nutrition improvement program.

In traffic management, Qingzhen has invested 17 million yuan in the first phase of the urban traffic safety application system. For safety assurance, a total of 120 million yuan was allocated to improve nearly 100 hazardous road sections, and over 4,800 cases of drunk and impaired driving were addressed.

In the field of healthcare services, Qingzhen has been focusing on prioritizing public health, investing a total of 1.14 billion yuan in the building and upgrading of three city-level medical institutions. To enhance medical standards, 50 high-caliber medical professionals have been introduced, along with 301 additional technical specialists. The average life expectancy in Qingzhen has increased from 78.8 to 80.2 years.
